Catch-Up Time!

I hate how true the saying 'time flies' is! March has come and gone, and now we're at the end of April...gaaaa!!! I'd like to slow it down just a little bit, but since that's not possible, here's an update of my latest work...

Bunnies on the Brain

So I was just showing my neighbor my recent artwork one day and she told me about her place of employment (Stride) having a similar event to these other places I've been donating to...and since I've been in this crazy donating-to-awesome-organizations mood, I couldn't refuse! And since I had just finished my Easter show art piece, I still had bunnies on the brain, so I knew that would have to be my theme. I don't know the exact date or place of this sale...but all proceeds go to helping out children with special needs, and I'm all about that cause. Here's what I did...

"Springtime Buds", 11" x 14", Acrylic

Art for the Boobies

Art for the Cure is happening this Friday and I'm super stoked cause I'm actually going to that gala, and I'm dragging John with me, which he's not as stoked but oh well! :P I can't wait to see all of the great art that I'm sure will be there! I like how they post a pic of this on their Facebook 'art gallery' page, it makes me feel semi-famous!... Here's the piece I donated...

"Love Dove", 14" x 11", Acrylic

for the puppies and kitties

I love animals. Love love LOVE THEM! To me, they're either super cute or so ugly that they're cute! And there are only a few that I don't like, but the majority I adore, so when I saw the post stating that the Cheyenne Animal Shelter was looking for art donations for the auction at the annual fur ball (and all proceeds go to the animals), I was compelled to paint something. I didn't attend the ball, but one of my bosses did and what's awesome about that is that he ended up actually buying it and hanging it up in his office at work, so now I can see it daily and that makes me very happy :)

"Paw Pals", 11" x 14", Acrylic

Easter Art Show

Wasn't sure if I'd have anything ready for this year's CAG Easter Show, but I finally picked a concept and here is the final piece:

"Gifts of Spring", 11" x 14" Pastel

Super Savers!

So...sometimes work asks me to create things for them, and this time it was to create coloring pages for kids since youth week is next week. They told me the theme this year is superheros, which if you know me well enough, you know that I LOOOOOVEEEE superheros (Marvel specifically) so of course I said yes! So I came up with my own version of heroes that could help kids save money...the Super Savers of WyHy! They're nothing epic, but I think they're fun, and so here they are for your enjoyment!

Reminiscent

I realize it's been literally FOREVER since I made an update to this blog, but since I believe 2012 has great things in store for me, here I am 3 years later making an update. And since my last post was when I was a junior in college at Savannah College or Art and Design, I figure I better catch everyone up. I graduated SCAD in May of 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in Animation. I then moved to Cheyenne to be with my boyfriend and now fiance John. Although I've been here for over a year I feel like I'm still brand new and everyday I'm discovering new things. Hopefully soon I'll make my mark in this town, but today I just feel like reminiscing...
